Gun-wielding individuals have killed a teacher and abducted at least 25 students in an assault against a female high school in Nigeria's northwestern region, authorities have confirmed.
The gang of attackers breached the comprehensive secondary school for girls in Kebbi State's Maga area at approximately 04:00 local time on the start of the week, officials stated.
The assailants "engaged police personnel on duty in a gun duel" before climbing over the boundary wall and taking the pupils captive from their dormitory, an official report indicated.
