Jurgen Klopp admits a return to coach Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club remains an option. The 58-year-old, post a game-changing nine-year spell featuring Champions League success and the Premier League crown since 1990, now holds roles in a global football capacity with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won the Premier League last season, but many fans who revere Klopp would be thrilled by the idea of his potential comeback. In a wide-ranging interview, he explained to Steven Bartlett: “I stated I refuse to lead a different club in England. Therefore should it be the Reds...yeah. In theory, it could happen.”

“Being 58, so I might decide later on, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? If so, I wouldn't return. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I can just see what the future brings.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Pressed on which situations would have to unfold to tempt his return to management, he revealed he was not instantly drawn to such a return. “I'm not entirely sure, I enjoy my current role,” he commented. “No longing for management; No desire to be under bad weather for lengthy sessions; No need for interviews four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews a week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room per se, but sitting in a restaurant alongside the squad enjoying conversation, that’s nice. With many victories meaning regularly positive atmosphere at the club. Remaining with me is the captain's chuckle in my ear for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

He commended for his successor, acknowledging his role for the adjustments that took the title in the previous season. They've been defeated four in a row across various tournaments after a summer spending spree, though he denied the suggestion that it might signal a slump.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker like Florian Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if you use the wrong words. He’s an incredible talent. The French striker, superb talent. They have a strong well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret over the club, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota

The manager expressed deep feeling about the death of Jota, a player he signed while in charge, along with the consequences at the club. Jota died tragically in a road accident together with his sibling recently.

“How do you replace a person like him? It goes beyond the player himself, it's his character. It's hard to picture the dressing room without him in it. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. A profound tragedy for his teammates too. No one within the club would cite it to justify results but it is the situation. You walk in a dressing room which he filled completely. Dealing with that emotionally is difficult. Impossible.”
