Renowned Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who featured in iconic TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, per reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a announcement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Television Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
