Star Refutes Anti-Vax Stance Following Voicing Contentious Coronavirus Feature
The "Taken" star has lent his narration to a recent film that challenges the efficacy of vaccinations and commends former government figure the political figure.
The Documentary's Disputed Origins
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a bestselling book written by Judy Mikovits, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for claims that the illness was caused by a faulty batch of the influenza shot.
Her writing partner, the executive producer, has previously authored books with far-right figure the Infowars host. The producer recently posted celebrating Neeson's role in the project.
A Strong Rebuttal
A spokesperson for the actor have provided a comment firmly refuting suggestions that he supports anti-vaccine beliefs.
"Everyone can recognize that misconduct may occur within the medical sector, but that should never be confused with rejection of vaccines," the response explains. "Liam is not, and remains not, against vaccines. His long work with Unicef reinforces his consistent support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."
The statement continued that the actor did not shape the project's narrative and that concerns about its claims ought to go to the producers.
Major Themes Featured in the Feature
In the film, the narration provided by Neeson includes several controversial points:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
- It declares that "research has become deeply influenced by politics."
- Kennedy is featured stating, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not safely tested."
- It also criticizes Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
- Regarding pandemic shots, it references a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Historical Controversy and Ongoing Debates
It also references a historical film about AIDS medication trials on children, which was afterwards the topic of a BBC apology by the network for editorial breaches.
Recently, RFK Jr directed the CDC to revise its longstanding position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism. This assertion is echoed in the documentary, contrary to a recent study from the global health body confirming no evidence has been found.
A Previous Position of Advocacy
Differing from the film's message, Neeson has formerly voiced clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Previously, he called vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," adding that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."
"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This isn't the end of our story. It is the start of a different phase."
